We were very pleased to welcome Sir Keir Starmer to our refuelling station to start the new year.

Keir allocated an hour of his visit to Birmingham to visit the Birmingham Energy Institute and our Hydrogen refuelling station. It speaks volumes for his interest that he actually stayed for over 2 hours (in the freezing cold!). When we talked to Keir it was clear that he is a very big advocate for green hydrogen as the way forward for heavy duty vehicles such as trucks and buses hence he was very keen to see our station first hand.

He was enthused by the opportunity for us to create new green jobs for the local economy whilst also reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality. He was accompanied by the local MP Jess Phillips and the local councillor Waseem Zaffar as well as representatives from the council and National Express who operate the buses.

The message from the day is that the UK has a fantastic opportunity to lead the world in green hydrogen with all the elements of the supply chain present and thriving. This is an opportunity the Government really needs to back.
